Our Educational Programs - Panhandle Animal Shelter

Our Educational Programs & Opportunities

The Panhandle Animal Shelter is focused on educating the young people of our community. To reach our young animal lovers, we have implemented the PAWS to Read program in conjunction with the Sandpoint Branch of the East Bonner County Library District, and we hold Critter Camp during the summer months.

Critter Camp is looking for young pet lovers. Join the Panhandle Animal Shelter for a week of animal education, hands-on animal fun and animal activities. To learn more about Critter Camp, please click here »

The PAWS to Read program gives young readers the opportunity to read to an attentive, unbiased and non-judgmental listener. The dogs love being out of the shelter and having a
“job” — and the kids love the idea of reading to a dog. To learn more about the PAWS to Read program, please click here »
