Our Volunteers - Panhandle Animal Shelter

Our Volunteers

Lin Otey
Dog Walker
Lin retired from a career in law enforcement and being a self-described animal lover, she wanted to spend some of her retirement time working with animals. Lin first started volunteering at the shelter in 2007 working with the cats and kittens before she switched to caring for and walking dogs (her true passion). She finds it refreshing to be able to volunteer at a no-kill shelter and work with wonderful people who share Lin’s love for animals.
About Lin
Lynn Headrick
After retiring from a career with AT&T in California, Lynn moved to north Idaho and was renting a home while her house was being built. She was not allowed to have pets as part of the rental agreement. Lynn decided she needed to do something to get her “doggie fix” so she began volunteering at Panhandle Animal Shelter in 2017 and has not stopped since. Lynn loves helping the community and feels a special pull towards dogs. Once she started working with them, she felt a special bond with the dogs. Lynn wants to give them all the TLC she can to bring out the best in the dogs so they will fit easily into their new families.
About Lynn
Barb Shaw
Barb’s involvement with the shelter began about five years ago. Barb has volunteered for dog walking, cleaning cats areas, but mostly worked on the luncheon fund raiser. Her professional background is working in social services: Investigating complaints of child abuse, probation officer, supervising social workers who work in low income living situations. Barb enjoys helping animals. She volunteers at PAS because it is a no-kill shelter. She believes animals are a huge part of helping keep us humans happy and healthy.
